Charges have been laid against a London man following an alleged assault on Christmas Day
A London man has been charged with aggravated assault following a serious attack that left a woman with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Sandringham Crescent and Wilkins Street at about 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25, after reports that a woman had been injured and required medical assistance.
A 29-year-old woman was found at the scene and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators identified a male suspect who was located and arrested at a residence in the city’s south-west end a short time later.
Police said the accused and the victim were known to each other and had previously been in an intimate relationship.
A 33-year-old London man has been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
