An investigation into firearms and drug trafficking in London has led to more than 200 charges
A year-long London-based investigation into firearms and drug trafficking has resulted in 214 charges against 11 individuals and the seizure of drugs and firearms valued at more than $2 million.
Project ALIAS, launched in January 2025 following a rise in firearm-related violence, involved the London Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, and several specialized units, including the Brant/Oxford Community Street Crime Unit. On January 14th, authorities executed 14 search warrants in London and Toronto, seizing 31 firearms, over-capacity magazines, 12.5 kilograms of fentanyl, 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, prescription pills, cash, and other offence-related property.
Investigators said the fentanyl seized could yield roughly 125,000 lethal street-level doses. Evidence shows the substances were intended for domestic distribution, and tracing revealed some firearms originated in U.S. states such as Alabama, Florida, Michigan, and Texas.
Of the 11 individuals charged, nine have been arrested, with two still at large. The OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit is assisting with the seizure of proceeds of crime, and investigators continue to gather evidence.
