London teacher charged with sexual assault, police believe there may be more victims

Charges laid against London teacher

A London man who taught at a local elementary school is facing charges after police say a student was sexually assaulted earlier this year.

Investigators with the London Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section say they were notified in August 2025 about allegations against a teacher at Bonaventure Meadows Public School.

Police allege the teacher began emailing a school-aged girl in January and, in April, brought her to his residence where she was sexually assaulted. They say in June, the man also touched her inappropriately at school.

As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Jamie Cain of London has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16, and luring a person under 16 by telecommunication.

Police say Cain appeared in court on Aug. 29 and was released from custody. He is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 22.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

London police say protecting the safety and well-being of the community — especially vulnerable residents — is their highest priority, and that support is being offered to the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact London police or Crime Stoppers.
