Ttwo new all-way stops aimed at improving safety on rural roads.
Drivers in Oxford County will soon see two new all-way stops aimed at improving safety on rural roads.
Oxford County Council has approved stop controls at Oxford Road 33 and Oxford Road 60 (16th Line) in East Zorra-Tavistock, as well as Oxford Road 6 and Oxford Road 28 in Zorra Township. Both intersections are scheduled to be upgraded in early to mid-September.
The East Zorra-Tavistock location was flagged in the County’s 2024 Transportation Master Plan as one of the top 10 rural intersections in need of review. A follow-up study this year confirmed restricted sightlines and collision data justified the installation.
Meanwhile, the Zorra Township intersection was recommended for an all-way stop following a third-party Road Safety Audit completed earlier in 2025.
Safety enhancements at both intersections will include stop-ahead signs, stop signs with flashing beacons, rumble strips, and pavement markings. Illumination is also planned for the East Zorra-Tavistock intersection in 2026.
