Ontario to allow alcohol at public events starting April 30th

The Ontario government will allow people to bring their own alcohol to certain outdoor public events starting April 30th, under a new Doug Ford government policy.

Starting this spring, you'll be able to crack a cold one at outdoor public events across the province.

The Ford government will start allowing people to bring their own alcoholic beverages to events like neighbourhood festivals, farmer's markets and movie screenings starting April 30th.

Municipalities will be required to pass a bylaw authorizing the use of alcohol in public if they don't already have one.

Event organizers will then have to apply for bring-your-own permits through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
