Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel.
Oxford County has declared a significant weather event for county roads effective 4 p.m. Monday due to high winds and drifting snow, particularly in rural areas outside Ingersoll, Woodstock and Tillsonburg.
The declaration meant road crews were unable to meet provincial winter maintenance standards as blowing snow and reduced visibility hampered plowing operations.
Waste collection was also disrupted in Zorra Township and the Town of Ingersoll. The Oxford County Waste Management Facility closed at 4 p.m. Monday and is scheduled to reopen Tuesday.
Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, drive with caution and follow county updates for the latest information.
