Oxford County stresses there are no safety concerns and the facility continues to meet provincial requirements.
Oxford County is advising Tillsonburg residents it is aware of odours coming from the town’s wastewater treatment plant. While the smell has been noticeable in recent weeks, the County stresses there are no safety concerns and the facility continues to meet provincial requirements.
The odour is being released through a new rooftop HVAC system installed during recent upgrades, with high temperatures making the issue worse.
County staff are refreshing the biofilter, reviewing treatment processes, and seeking funding for new odour-control equipment. Work to address the issue is underway, and residents are thanked for their patience.
