Businesses that register for recycling may also qualify for green bin organics collection.
Oxford County is reminding small businesses and multi-residential property owners to register now for new curbside collection services starting in 2026.
The County’s new business, commercial, and institutional (BCI) curbside recycling program begins January 5, 2026, and will run in all eight area municipalities. The program will serve small businesses, municipal buildings, institutions, childcare centres, places of worship, and campgrounds.
There is no cost for eligible organizations to join. However, businesses must register online, be located along an existing collection route, and meet program requirements before service can begin.
The new program was approved by Oxford County Council after changes under Ontario’s producer responsibility framework limited blue box recycling to residential properties only.
Businesses that register for recycling may also qualify for green bin organics collection.
Multi-residential properties with six or more units will be eligible to join the organics program later in 2026, but owners must also register online in advance.
