Khanna says the situation threatens over 1,200 unionized jobs
Oxford MP Arpan Khanna is calling on the federal government to take urgent action after General Motors missed its 15-day deadline to resolve tariff-related issues affecting the CAMI Assembly Plant in Ingersoll.
Khanna says the situation threatens over 1,200 unionized jobs and thousands of others in the local supply chain.
GM had warned that if a resolution wasn’t reached by November 7, vehicle production could be pulled from the plant.
In a letter to the Minister of Transport, Khanna urged Ottawa to intervene immediately to protect workers and stabilize the region’s economy.
