Nearly 3,000 new long‑term care staff will be trained.
The Ontario Government has announced 26 million dollars in new funding for programs to train more front line staff in long-term care.
The province says the new funding will support nearly 3,000 new staff in long-term care through a program focused on living classrooms - integrating education into long-term care homes, allowing students to stay in their home communities as they study and apply what they learn as they work with residents.
The other program supports professional growth, to train and upskill staff already working in long-term care.
