CN Rail is carrying out urgent rail repairs in Princeton, closing Oxford Road 3 at the tracks between Gissing and Railway Streets until Friday evening.
Residents and commuters in Princeton should prepare for temporary road closures as Canadian National (CN) Railway begins urgent maintenance work on a local rail line.
Crews are carrying out repairs on the railway tracks along Oxford Road 3 (Main Street), between Gissing Street and Railway Street. The work is scheduled to be completed by 6 p.m. on Friday, May 1st, weather permitting.
To minimize disruption to rail operations, CN will focus on repairing the south line during this phase of the project. The north line will be addressed at a later date.
As a result of the maintenance, Oxford Road 3 will be closed at the railway crossing for the duration of the work. A detour will be in place to guide traffic around the closure, directing drivers along Oxford Road 2, Gobles Road, and Township Road 2.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signage while the repairs are underway.
