Stolen ATV's recovered near Tillsonburg

They were found on a property on Goshen Road.

Two stolen all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) have been recovered and a 37-year-old Elgin County resident is facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant near Tillsonburg.

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at around 10:34 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP Preventing Auto Theft Unit, with assistance from the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP Community Street Crime Unit, carried out a search at a property on Goshen Road.

The location sits along the border of Norfolk and Oxford Counties and was under investigation in connection with stolen property.

During the search of a garage on the property, officers discovered two Honda ATVs. Police confirmed that one had been reported stolen in Norfolk County and the other in Elgin County.

The recovery of the vehicles marks a significant step in an ongoing effort by OPP to crack down on auto theft and property-related crimes in rural communities.

As a result of the investigation, the 37-year-old of Elgin County has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The OPP continues to remind residents across Norfolk, Oxford, and Elgin Counties to report suspicious activity and to take steps to secure recreational vehicles and equipment, as theft remains a concern in rural areas.
