Thames Valley Education Foundation raises $83,500 for Caring Fund on Giving Tuesday

The money will go toward providing emergency assistance to students and families facing unexpected challenges across the Thames Valley District School Board

The Thames Valley Education Foundation is celebrating a strong show of community support following its annual Giving Tuesday campaign.

The Foundation says this year’s fundraiser brought in $83,500 for the Caring Fund, surpassing its original goal of $50,000. The money will go toward providing emergency assistance to students and families facing unexpected challenges across the Thames Valley District School Board.

The Caring Fund helps cover essential needs such as winter clothing, groceries and other critical items, ensuring students can stay focused on learning during difficult times. Since its launch in 2008, the program has distributed more than $2.1 million through nearly 7,100 requests, supporting students when they need it most.

Executive Director Cecile Klerks says the success of the campaign is a meaningful way to begin the Foundation’s 25th anniversary year, especially as demand for support continues to rise.
