Brady is urging the province to direct municipalities to dedicate at least one painted crosswalk to recognize the service and sacrifice of Canada’s heroes.
Haldimand–Norfolk MPP Bobbi Ann Brady is again calling on the Ontario government to permanently honour Canadian military veterans and soldiers.
Brady has re-tabled a motion in the Legislature urging the province to direct municipalities to dedicate at least one painted crosswalk to recognize the service and sacrifice of Canada’s heroes.
Brady says Ontario is “long past due” in creating a daily reminder of the freedoms secured through generations of courage and sacrifice.
“The further away we move from the world wars and this era of long peace, the more likely we are to lose sight of their efforts,” she said.
This marks the third time Brady has brought the motion forward. She hopes local municipalities will take the lead in the meantime, helping to ensure every community remembers Canada’s veterans every single day.
