Police determined that a bullet had hit the window and continued through to a door inside the home, while residents were inside.
Three local youths are facing charges after a firearm was discharged at a residence in Aylmer earlier this week.
Aylmer Police say officers were called to a home just after 3 p.m. on January 20, after a resident reported that an unknown object had struck a window. Upon arrival, police determined that a bullet had hit the window and continued through to a door inside the home, while residents were inside.
Following an investigation, officers located the youths at a nearby residence, where a .22 calibre rifle was recovered.
Police say three youths, two 14-year-old males and one 16-year-old male, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Their identities are not being released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
One of the 14-year-olds is charged with discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless use of a firearm. The second 14-year-old, along with the 16-year-old, face charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless use of a firearm.
Police say one youth was released on an undertaking with conditions. The remaining two youths, who were on bail for unrelated offences at the time, were held for a bail hearing and have since been remanded into custody.
