The Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 50th anniversary Thursday night with its annual Awards of Excellence.
Two hundred and fourteen people attended the event, which recognizes outstanding local businesses and community leaders.
Chamber President Lindsey Tribble says seeing that many people come out was a testament to both the community and the Chamber's five decades in Tillsonburg.
The evening was also about celebrating the community itself, with Tribble pointing to the camaraderie and community spirit she says are among Tillsonburg's strengths.
The Awards of Excellence feature categories recognizing achievements in areas including business improvement, community service, employment, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and positive change.
