The Tillsonburg Community Centre will be closed to the public for part of the day on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, to allow staff to conduct testing on the facility’s backup power system.
The closure will be in effect from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Town officials say the testing is necessary after recent technical issues with the system. Because the community centre is designated as an emergency evacuation centre, ensuring the backup power system functions properly is a priority.
During the testing period, sections of the building will temporarily lose power. For safety reasons, the entire facility will be closed.
Recreation programs scheduled during the closure will be cancelled, with participants being notified directly by email. The community centre is expected to reopen for regular operations once testing is complete.
