The town has announced it will be lowering flags to honour this impactful member of the community
You might notice flags at half-mast in front of town facilities.
Until Wednesday, flags have been lowered to honour of the passing of Former Canadian Peacekeeper and Tillsonburg resident Stu MacKeigan.
MacKeigan passed away November 20th at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. A former peacekeeper who served in Cyprus, he was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion and spent 45 years with Ironworkers Local 736.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne, children Derek, Stacy and Jennifer, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 7–9 p.m. at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, including a Legion service at 7 p.m. A second visitation is scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church, followed by a memorial service and interment at Tillsonburg Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Church or a charity of choice.
