The first phase, running March 16th to 23rd, will cover areas west of Broadway between North Street West and Concession Street West.
Residents in Tillsonburg should expect temporary water disruptions as the town carries out its annual spring water system maintenance over the next several weeks.
Water main flushing will take place weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in different areas of town from March 16th through April 24th.
The first phase, running March 16th to 23rd, will cover areas west of Broadway between North Street West and Concession Street West. Flushing will then move March 23rd to 27th to neighbourhoods west of Participark and south of Concession Street West.
From March 30th to April 2nd, work will take place in all areas north of North Street.
Flushing will continue April 7th to 10th in neighbourhoods east of Broadway between North Street East and Concession Street East.
Between April 13th and 17th, maintenance will focus on areas east of Participark between John Pound Road and Simcoe Street. The final phase, scheduled for April 20th to 24th, will include neighbourhoods east of John Pound Road between Rokeby Street and Harvest Avenue.
During flushing, residents may notice reduced water pressure or discoloured water. The town advises residents to avoid doing laundry during maintenance, as discoloured water could stain clothing and bedding.
If water appears discoloured, residents are encouraged to run a cold water tap for five to 10 minutes until the water clears. Anyone experiencing persistent discolouration after 24 hours is asked to contact the town’s customer service line.
Town officials say water main flushing is a routine annual maintenance practice designed to maintain water quality and ensure the system continues operating efficiently.
