Two arrested after series of shoplifting incidents in Tillsonburg

Two people are facing multiple charges following a series of shoplifting incidents in Tillsonburg.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Oxford detachment say the incidents happened between January 28 and January 29, 2026, at a shopping centre on Broadway in Tillsonburg.

Police say officers located and arrested two suspects on January 29 after an investigation into thefts from several businesses.

James Porchack, a 45-year-old Tillsonburg resident, has been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000 and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Dustin Vanhaverbeke, a 35-year-old Tillsonburg resident, has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Both accused remain in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing.
