Woodstock council opts to delay zoning changes to explore the possibility of including a childcare centre
Woodstock City Council has deferred a proposed zoning change and recommended deferring an Official Plan amendment for a portion of the former golf course lands south of Juliana Drive.
The amendments would have allowed high-density residential development with a minimum of 150 new units on city-owned land. Council opted to delay the decisions to explore the possibility of including a childcare centre.
The move aligns with the 2025 Childcare Promotion and Support Policy, which requires Council to consider opportunities for new licensed spaces when selling or developing city-owned properties.
