If you're driving around Oxford County, make sure to give yourself some extra time
Residents are being advised to prepare for difficult travel conditions as snowfall hits the region.
Forecasters say an Alberta clipper will bring snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres, with snow beginning early Wednesday and impacting the morning commute. Conditions are expected to gradually ease through the afternoon, but wind gusts of up to 50 kilometres per hour could result in blowing snow, particularly in exposed and wind-prone areas.
Poor visibility is expected at times due to heavy snow and localized blowing snow. Roads and walkways are likely to become snow-covered and slippery, increasing the risk of delays and collisions.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for travel and adjust plans where possible as winter conditions deteriorate.
