The CPKC Holiday Train is currently on its annual tour of Canada and the U.S., raising money, food, and awareness to support local food banks
The CPKC Holiday Train is rolling back into Woodstock this Friday, bringing its signature lights, music, and festive cheer to the community.
With this fan-favourite set to return, OxfordToday.ca sat down with Kristen Brodhagen, Manager of Special Events for the City of Woodstock, who shared what an honour it is to be chosen as a stop once again.
The train is scheduled to arrive at 199 Winniett Street at 6:40 p.m. on November 21st, featuring live performances from Smash Mouth, who are sure to thrill fans with hits like All Star, and Canadian artist JJ Wilde.
As excitement builds for the train's arrival on Friday, Brodhagen reminds the community why the evening is so impactful locally.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make monetary donations at the Salvation Army Christmas Kettles on site, which will help stock their HOPE Market. Some of the needed items include fruit and pudding cups, Bear Paws, juice boxes, Sidekicks pasta/rice, and Hamburger Helper.
As a thank you to the community, the Salvation Army will be serving free hot chocolate, and the City of Woodstock will be handing out foam glow sticks to the children. And as Brodhagen explains, seating options will be available this year.
For more information on parking, viewing areas, and road closures, visit the City of Woodstock website.
The event is free and open to the public, offering a festive evening for families and friends to celebrate the season while giving back to the community.
