Register for a free card and borrow materials from both libraries at no cost.
Starting January 1, 2026, residents across Oxford County will have more ways to borrow books and resources, thanks to a new partnership between Oxford County Library and Woodstock Public Library.
The two library systems are launching a reciprocal borrowing program that allows cardholders from either system to register for a free card and borrow materials from both libraries at no cost. That means Oxford County Library users can borrow from Woodstock Public Library, while Woodstock residents can access all Oxford County Library branches.
Woodstock Public Library CEO Lindsay Harris says the idea grew out of an already strong partnership.
The program was discussed earlier this year and moved forward quickly, with Oxford County Library CEO and Chief Librarian Lisa-Marie Williams saying it was straight forward.
Harris believes this is the type of partnership that benefits everyone.
Williams explained it is so much more than books, the program opens access to unique Oxford County collections.
While Woodstock Public Library provides comfortable study spaces, computers, and its own special collections.
To take part, patrons need a valid library card from their home system and photo identification. Library cards are free, and more information is available at www.ocl.net or www.mywpl.ca.
Oxford County Library includes 14 branches across the county, while Woodstock Public Library operates one central location.
