Organic waste collection program launching January 2026.
Residents in the City of Woodstock and the Township of South-West Oxford will soon receive new green bins as Oxford County prepares to launch its organic waste collection program in January 2026.
Throughout October and November, 24,000 households will receive a 45-litre curbside green bin and a 7-litre kitchen container, complete with sorting guides and compostable liner samples. Bins are being delivered to single-detached, semi-detached, townhouse, and smaller apartment units on existing garbage routes.
Collection of organic waste will begin on January 5, 2026, alongside regular garbage pick-up under a six-day rotating schedule. Residents will receive updated collection calendars by mail and online this November.
Those living above downtown businesses in Woodstock must contact the County to arrange delivery, while larger apartment buildings can enroll for service beginning November 1, 2025, at www.oxfordcounty.ca/multi-res.
The program will expand to the rest of Oxford County in May 2027, including Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock, Norwich, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and Zorra.
For more details or to report missing bins by November 30, residents can contact Oxford County at info@wasteline.ca or 1-800-755-0394 ext. 3159.
