Group of men charged in online sting targeting suspects seeking sex from minors

London police have made a series of arrests as part of online sting operation

Eight men are facing charges after an undercover operation by the London Police Service’s Human Trafficking Unit targeting those seeking sexual services from minors.

The two-day investigation, conducted October 28th–29th with help from the OPP’s Intelligence-Led Joint Forces Strategy, involved suspects communicating online with an officer posing as a person under 18.

Those charged include residents of London and Woodstock, ranging in age from 22 to 34. Each faces one count of communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services from a person under 18.

Police say collaboration between agencies is vital to protecting victims and holding offenders accountable.

All accused have been released from custody and are due in court between November 27th and December 11th.
