The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association (CHAA), based at the Tillsonburg Airport, will once again honour Canada’s veterans with special Remembrance Day flypasts this November.

For more than 20 years, CHAA has been invited by the City of Toronto to perform flypasts over several key sites, including the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre. This year’s tribute flight will also pass over Burlington’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

The historic Harvard aircraft played a crucial role in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. As the main advanced single-engine trainer used in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, it helped prepare more than 130,000 aircrew across Canada. Its distinct roar remains a powerful symbol of the nation’s aviation history.

Four vintage Harvard planes — or possibly three, depending on conditions — will fly in the solemn “missing man” formation, a moving aerial salute to those who served and sacrificed for freedom.
