The Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has confirmed the identity of human remains found in South-West Oxford Township.
Police say officers were called to a property on Beachville Road on Monday, September 1, 2025, at around 2:45 p.m. after suspected human remains were discovered.
A postmortem examination conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service identified the deceased as 45-year-old Cory Gigault of Woodstock. Investigators say the cause of death has not yet been determined.
The investigation is being led by the Oxford OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with support from the Office of the Chief Coroner and OPP Forensic Identification Services.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and more details will be shared when available.
