It’s OK to not be OK: CMHA urges community to reach out during Suicide Prevention Month

Anyone in crisis can now reach out on a Canada-wide line by simply calling or texting 9-8-8.

It's National Suicide Prevention Month....and a local agency wants to be sure the message gets out...that it's OK to NOT be ok. And it's ok...to seek help.

Lila Desjardin is the Manager of Supportive Response Programs at CMHA Thames Valley, which serves Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin Counties.

The CMHA has many resources to help.

We asked Lila to go over the numbers for us, when it comes to people reaching out for their help.

Her message to anyone who thinks someone they know is contemplating suicide ..is clear.

You can reach much more about the services provided by CMHA Thames Valley at cmhatv.ca
