Participark is closed between Concession Street West and Baldwin Street.
The Town of Tillsonburg has officially launched the Kinsmen Bridge Replacement Project.
This has resulted in the full closure of Participark, including the trail between Concession Street West and Baldwin Street from August through December.
As construction moves forward, there will be no public access to the park for the duration of the work.
In addition, pedestrian and cycling access to Veteran’s Walkway will be restricted between Rolph Street and Wilson Avenue.
However, access to Hickory Hills Recreation Centre will remain open.
A pedestrian detour route is in place to guide foot and bike traffic safely around the construction zone.
To support safe pedestrian movement, a temporary three-way stop has been installed at the intersection of Baldwin Street and Wilson Avenue.
The Town urges residents and visitors to respect all security fencing and posted signage.
The site will be active with heavy equipment and will require large staging areas throughout the construction period.
The infrastructure project involves the complete removal and replacement of the Kinsmen Pedestrian Bridge.
The new bridge will be prefabricated and constructed using weathering steel, galvanized grating, and new steel piers.
The original masonry piers will be retained and upgraded with new concrete caps.
In addition, LED lighting fixtures will be installed along the bridge deck to improve visibility and enhance pedestrian safety.
Once construction is complete, all areas impacted by the work will be fully restored.
For project updates and additional information, residents can visit the Town of Tillsonburg’s official website or contact municipal staff directly.
