London man charged after Riverside Drive hit and run leaves motorcyclist seriously injured

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a serious motorcycle crash

A 40-year-old London man has been charged in connection with a hit and run last month that left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

Police say the collision happened around 4:20 p.m. on September 27th, when a westbound motorcycle on Riverside Drive was struck by a black Ford F-150 pickup truck travelling eastbound.

Investigators say the truck crossed the centre line before colliding with the motorcycle, then fled the scene without stopping.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with critical injuries and remains in serious condition.

Officers later found the suspect vehicle nearby and seized it, but the driver was not located at the time. The investigation was reassigned to the London Police Service Road Safety Section, which later identified the alleged driver.

Police say the suspect, Chad William Thomas Hallett, turned himself in to police headquarters on October 11th.

Hallett is now facing several charges in connection with the crash.
