London police provide update on stolen vehicle investigation
A London man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into a stolen vehicle reported late last month.
London police say a vehicle was reported stolen on January 27th, from a residence in the area of Woodward Avenue and Tozer Avenue. Later that morning, police were also notified that a credit card left inside the vehicle had been used at a business near Oxford Street West and Proudfoot Lane.
The investigation was reassigned to the London Police Service Patrol Operations Investigative Section, where officers obtained video surveillance and images of both the vehicle and the suspect.
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 1 a.m., officers located the stolen vehicle at a business near Wharncliffe Road South and Base Line Road East. Additional officers were called to assist, and shortly after 1:10 a.m., police attempted to stop the vehicle in the parking lot.
Police say the male driver attempted to flee, striking a fence before becoming stuck in a snowbank. The driver and a female passenger then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Both were located and arrested a short distance away. No injuries were reported.
Officers later learned the driver was bound by a court order not to operate a motor vehicle and was wanted after allegedly removing a court-ordered GPS ankle monitor in August 2025.
As a result of the investigation, Colin Terrance Carville, 45, of London, has been charged with failing to comply with a release order, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, theft of a motor vehicle, use of a credit card, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and breach of probation.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
