London police looking into targeted shooting in the city's south end
London police are asking for the public’s help after what investigators describe as a targeted shooting at a home in the city’s south end.
Officers with the Uniformed Division were called around 8 a.m. earlier Tuesday to a residence on Crown Grant Road, where they found gunshot damage to a vehicle and garage door. No injuries were reported.
Police say surveillance footage shows that around 3 a.m., suspects parked a dark-coloured sedan on nearby Pack Road. At least one person then approached the home on foot and fired multiple rounds into the residence before fleeing.
The investigation has been turned over to the Major Crime Section.
“Violent incidents, particularly those involving firearms, pose serious safety concerns to the individuals directly involved and threaten feelings of safety and wellbeing throughout the wider community,” London police said in a statement. “We will continue to employ intelligence-based enforcement and crime prevention strategies … while prioritizing the investigation of gun violence to ensure those responsible for it are held to account.”
Investigators are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area of Crown Grant Road and Pack Road between 2:50 and 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. They are also asking residents or businesses to check for dash-cam or surveillance video.
Police say the investigation is still in its early stages, with more information expected as it develops.
