London police say 13 people are facing a total of 76 charges in connection with four recent shootings in the city.

The charges follow investigations led by the Guns and Gangs Section and Major Crime Section between August and September. Police say illegal firearms have been seized as part of the work.

“The recent surge in gun violence is deeply concerning and will not be tolerated,” said Chief Thai Truong at a press conference Tuesday. “Those who choose to engage in violent crime and put our citizens at risk will be held accountable.”

Det. Sgt. Jon Meinen, who leads the Guns and Gangs Section, said police are committed to tackling firearm and drug-related offenses, ranging from street-level incidents to organized crime.

Det. Sgt. Micah Bourdeau of the Major Crime Section said investigators are focused on bringing offenders to justice while building community trust and safety.
