The Ontario government is opening a new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment Hub in London
A new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment Hub is opening in London as part of Ontario’s plan to expand access to mental health and addictions services across the province.
The London site, operated by CMHA Thames Valley Addiction & Mental Health Services, will officially open October 27th. It’s one of 28 hubs being launched under a $550-million provincial investment to support people facing housing instability, mental health issues and substance use challenges.
“We are building a stronger, more connected system of mental health and addictions care that better reflects the needs of communities and focuses on lasting recovery,” said Vijay Thanigasalam, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions. “The opening of this new HART Hub will ensure that people struggling with mental health and addictions challenges in London can get the care they need on their path to recovery, while keeping the community safe.”
The hub will connect clients to a range of supports including primary care, addictions and mental health treatment, social services, employment support, and mental health and addictions-focused housing.
The program is part of Ontario’s Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care and Roadmap to Wellness initiatives to integrate mental health and addictions services province-wide.
