OPP investigating serious two‑vehicle crash in Norwich Township

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital by ground ambulance with injuries that have not been described, while the driver of the passenger vehicle was airlifted by Ornge.

Two people were taken to hospital following a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 59 in Oxford County Tuesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say the crash happened around 7:40 a.m. on February 3rd in Norwich Township.

Emergency crews from Oxford OPP, Oxford County Fire Services, Oxford County Paramedic Services and Ornge air ambulance were dispatched to the scene after reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pickup truck.

Police say the vehicles collided on Highway 59 between Curries Road and Gunn’s Hill Road.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to hospital by ground ambulance with injuries that have not been described, while the driver of the passenger vehicle was airlifted by Ornge.

Highway 59 remained closed for several hours as investigators worked at the scene.

OPP say the cause of the crash is still under investigation and are asking motorists to continue respecting road closures and signage for safety.
