The final long weekend of summer has arrived
The OPP is urging road users to make safety a top priority over the final long weekend of summer.
As of mid-August, 214 people have died on OPP-patrolled roads this year, with speeding, impaired driving, inattention, and lack of seatbelts leading the causes.
The OPP is also reminding boaters and off-roaders to wear lifejackets and helmets and encouraging the public to call 911 to report unsafe drivers.
Motorists can expect an increased police presence targeting dangerous driving.
