Ottawa invests $5 million to boost Southwestern Ontario manufacturing jobs

Tillsonburg-based Future Transfer Co. Inc. is receiving $2.5 million.

The Government of Canada is investing more than $5 million to help three manufacturers in southwestern Ontario grow, modernize, and strengthen local supply chains.

The announcement was made Tuesday in Ingersoll during a visit to Hydra Dyne Technology Inc. by London West MP Arielle Kayabaga, on behalf of FedDev Ontario Minister Evan Solomon.

Hydra Dyne Technology Inc. will receive $2 million to expand its manufacturing of hydraulic components by adding advanced automation. The upgrades will help meet growing demand while reducing waste.

Tillsonburg-based Future Transfer Co. Inc. is receiving $2.5 million to install automated equipment and build a fully integrated Ontario-based crop protection supply chain, reducing reliance on imports.

Melnik Resources in Mount Brydges will receive more than $530,000 to modernize its facility, including the purchase of a new laser cutter.

The federal government says the investments will support job creation, boost productivity, and help ensure Canada’s manufacturing sector remains competitive.
