The county is hosting a public meeting on a major road project in Ingersoll

Oxford County is set to begin a multi-phase infrastructure project to improve Oxford Road 9 (Hamilton Road/King Street) from the CPKC Railway west to the Town of Ingersoll boundary, including upgrades at the Oxford Roads 9 and 10 intersection.

The work will include the installation of new sanitary and storm sewers, a watermain, curbs, gutters, traffic signals, and street lighting, as well as sidewalk upgrades, landscaping and restoration.

Construction will take place in two phases. The first, beginning this November through December 2025, will involve sanitary sewer preparations. The second phase, scheduled from January to December 2026, will see full road reconstruction and final asphalt surfacing.

During the first phase, Oxford Road 9 will be closed to through traffic, with access restricted to local residents, businesses, and emergency services. A signed detour will route traffic via Oxford Road 45, Road 60, and Oxford Road 10 (Ingersoll Street North).

Residents can learn more about the project at a public information session on Tuesday, October 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Ingersoll Town Hall, located at 130 Oxford Street.

Oxford County notes that timelines are subject to change depending on weather conditions, contractor availability, and other factors.
