Oxford County Council is set to review several key reports at its February 25 meeting, including road safety measures in local townships, annual drinking water system performance, and updates to planning policies.
Road Safety in Townships
Council will consider recommendations following speed management and traffic calming reviews in communities such as Windfall, Plattsville, Innerkip, Tavistock, Norwich and Otterville. Proposed measures include speed limit adjustments, flexible centreline delineators and electronic speed feedback signs. The County regularly reviews road safety data and conducts post-monitoring studies to measure how effective changes are in reducing vehicle speeds.
2025 Drinking Water System Reports
Council will also receive the 2025 Annual Water System Performance Summary. Of 11 completed inspections by Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, nine systems earned a 100 per cent rating, while two received 97 per cent.
Oxford County treated nearly 11.9 million cubic metres of drinking water last year, serving 21 communities. Demand increased in 12 systems, particularly in Woodstock and Tillsonburg.
