Oxford County launches annual fall watermain flushing September 22

It will be starting in Plattsville

Oxford County will begin its annual fall watermain flushing program on Monday, September 22 at 8:00 a.m., starting in Plattsville. Crews will move across the County until the work is complete on Friday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m.

Watermain flushing helps maintain clean and safe drinking water, but residents may notice temporary changes such as discoloured water or sediment during the process. To avoid issues, Oxford County recommends setting aside tap water before flushing begins in your area. If water is discoloured afterward, run cold water until it clears.

Anyone still experiencing discoloured water two hours after flushing, low pressure, or no water should contact Oxford County Public Works at 1-800-755-0394 ext. 3915 or email [publicworks@oxfordcounty.ca](mailto:publicworks@oxfordcounty.ca).

To help residents plan, Oxford County has created an interactive map showing where flushing crews are working. The map, full schedule, and preparation tips are available at [www.oxfordcounty.ca/watermainflushing](http://www.oxfordcounty.ca/watermainflushing).
