Phase 2 of the project is set to begin in spring 2026.
Oxford County is moving ahead with the next phase of a multi-year reconstruction project aimed at improving Oxford Road 35, also known as Devonshire Avenue, in Woodstock.
Phase 2 of the project is set to begin in spring 2026 and will focus on the section of Devonshire Avenue from just east of Wellington Street to just east of Knightsbridge Road. During construction, the roadway will be closed to through traffic in both directions, with access maintained for local residents, businesses, and emergency services.
A signed detour will be in place using Vansittart Avenue, Dundas Street, and Springbank Avenue. The work is expected to be completed by November 2026.
County officials say residents interested in learning more about the project are invited to attend a Public Information Centre later this month. The drop-in session will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the main lobby of the Oxford County Administration Building at 21 Reeve St. in Woodstock. Public Works Engineering staff will be available to answer questions and review project plans.
Oxford County notes construction timelines are estimates and may change due to weather conditions, contractor availability, or other factors. Additional details on traffic impacts and detours will be shared closer to the start of construction.
Future phases of the reconstruction will address different sections of Devonshire Avenue each year, extending east to Oxford Road 4, with the exception of the stretch between Lansdowne Avenue and Woodall Way.
