The plan authorizes a $278.2-million operating budget along with a $127.9-million capital budget.
Oxford County council will be asked to approve the 2026 Interim Levy By-law at its next meeting, a move that would allow the county to collect tax installments from its eight local municipalities.
Under the levy, Oxford’s area municipalities transfer payments to the county to help fund county-wide services. Those payments are typically made in March and June each year.
County officials note the request follows council’s approval of the 2026 Business Plan and Budget on December 10th. The plan authorizes a $278.2-million operating budget along with a $127.9-million capital budget.
Residents looking for more information on how property taxes are allocated can find details on the county’s budget breakdown on its website.
The final 2026 Business Plan and Budget document is expected to be posted online on Wednesday.
