Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute once again captured the top spot.
More than 1,300 students climbed for a cause at the 22nd annual United Way Oxford Student Stairclimb on November 6 at the Reeves Community Complex. The friendly competition united seven Oxford County high schools in a shared goal of giving back, raising a combined total of $40,227 to support United Way Oxford-funded programs across the county.
This year, Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute once again captured the top spot, contributing an impressive $14,000. Other participating schools included CASS, WCI, St. Mary’s, Huron Park, Glendale, and Notre Dame.
Sponsored by Meridian Credit Union, the event highlighted the power of youth in community leadership. “You’re never too young to make a difference,” said Steve Halyk, Branch Manager at Meridian Woodstock.
Since 2004, the Student Stairclimb has raised over $479,000, making it one of United Way Oxford’s most successful youth-led fundraising initiatives.
