Investigation underway for London police after shootings earlier this week
Police are investigating two targeted overnight shootings that took place within 15 minutes of each other in London, and are asking the public for help identifying a suspect vehicle believed to be linked to both incidents.
The first shooting occurred around 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, when officers responded to reports of gunfire on Homestead Court. Upon arrival, police found evidence that multiple bullets had struck a residence.
Roughly 15 minutes later, at about 12:40 a.m., police were called to the 0–100 block of Huron Street for another shooting. Officers found similar damage to a home, confirming several rounds had been fired.
No one was injured in either incident, and police say no residents or bystanders were struck by gunfire.
Investigators believe the shootings were targeted and are exploring the possibility that they are connected. A vehicle seen at both locations was described as a blue Honda Civic with no front licence plate and a damaged or non-functioning front passenger headlight.
The investigations have been reassigned to the London Police Service Major Crime Section, with assistance from the Guns and Gangs Section. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage and following up on several leads.
Police are asking anyone with information, or with video footage from the area of Homestead Crescent and Homestead Court between 12 a.m. and 12:30 a.m., or from Huron Street and The Parkway between 12:35 and 12:45 a.m., to contact investigators.
The investigations remain ongoing, and police say further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
