Archival images pays tribute to local librarians.
Oxford County Library is celebrating its rich history on the road with a new vehicle wrap that showcases the roots of its mobile library service. The freshly wrapped transit van features archival images of the Oxford County Library Cooperative’s first vehicle (1953–1964) and pays tribute to pioneers Louise Krompart, Oxford’s first County Librarian, and Assistant Librarian Christine Crocker.
While not a bookmobile like *Ox on the Run*, which delivers library programs directly to residents, the transit van plays a vital role behind the scenes. It travels between Oxford County Library’s 14 community branches and the County Administration Building, and also supports deliveries for Woodingford Lodge, EarlyON, and Paramedic Services.
Historical photos for the design were sourced from the Oxford County Archives, the Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario, and the London Free Press Collection at Western University Archives and Special Collections.
