Simcoe and Tillsonburg are earned recognition after both communities made the Top 10 list of best places to retire in Canada for 2026.
The ranking comes from Canadian real estate marketplace Zolo, which reviewed 38 cities and regions across the country. The report measured affordability, cost of living, safety, and access to amenities important to retirees.
In Tillsonburg, the cost of living is about 10 per cent lower than the national average, with a benchmark home price of $578,300 as of December 2025. Census data shows 28.8 per cent of residents are over 65. The report noted established 55+ communities such as Hickory Hills and Baldwin Place add to its appeal.
Meanwhile, Simcoe offers a cost of living roughly eight per cent below the national average, with benchmark home prices at $565,800. Nearly 20 per cent of residents are over 65. The report highlighted the largest town in Norfolk County, Simcoe provides recreation opportunities, including the Simcoe Seniors' Centre, and easy access to beaches such as Port Dover Beach and Turkey Point Beach.
