Your input is being sought for feedback on the Site Plan Control by-law
Town of Tillsonburg is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on proposed updates to its Site Plan Control By-law aimed at aligning local regulations with recent provincial legislative changes.
The current by-law, which regulates certain types of development and site design within municipal limits, was last adopted by council in November 2017. It governs the location of development on a property and is intended to ensure safety, visual appeal and compatibility with surrounding lands.
Since its adoption, several amendments to Ontario’s Planning Act have prompted the need for a comprehensive review. Municipal officials say the updated by-law and guidelines are designed to reflect those legislative changes while improving clarity, transparency and efficiency in the Town’s site plan application process.
A full rewrite of the by-law and accompanying guidelines has now been completed. Many of the proposed amendments respond directly to changes in provincial legislation, while others seek to streamline procedures for applicants and enhance public understanding of the process.
An open house is scheduled for March 11, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Lion’s Den Room at the Community Centre, 45 Hardy Ave. Formal presentations outlining the proposed changes will take place at 3:30 p.m. and again at 5 p.m., followed by opportunities for questions and feedback.
Residents can review a copy of the proposed Site Plan Control By-law and guidelines, along with supporting materials, at the Town’s Customer Service Centre, 10 Lisgar Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The documents are also available on the Town of Tillsonburg’s website.
