Thames Valley high schools are once again helping ease the transition to Grade 9 with the return of High School, Here I Come! — a free, two-day summer program designed to prepare incoming students for the realities of secondary school life.
The program will be delivered on-site at all TVDSB secondary schools. Students can choose between two session options:
Monday, August 18 – Tuesday, August 19 or Wednesday, August 20 – Thursday, August 21. Each session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
Participants will explore study strategies, time management, literacy and numeracy learning skills, and gain insight into the social and emotional transition to high school. The program also encourages involvement in extracurricular activities as a way to meet new people and build school spirit.
Registration closes Wednesday, August 6 at noon.
