Ontario's SIU is looking into arrests made by London Police last week connected to drugs and a stolen vehicle
London Police say two people face charges after officers discovered a stolen vehicle and arrested its occupants.
Police say a patrol officer located the reported stolen vehicle around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday on Simcoe Street. A man and woman were found asleep inside. Officers determined the man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant and took both individuals into custody.
A search during the arrest uncovered suspected heroin, police said.
Both were brought to London Police Headquarters, but around 7 a.m. Thursday, the man was taken to hospital after experiencing symptoms of a possible medical issue. He remains in hospital.
As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Robert Matthew Roth and 39-year-old Larissa Anne McClinchey, both of London, have been jointly charged with possession of property obtained by crime. Roth is also charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.
